Long before there was a nonprofit, a logo, or a vision statement, there was struggle.
The Evelyn Ramey Centers for Hope was born from the lived experience of its founders, Azaryah and Emellie Yisrael, who faced seasons of hardship and instability while rebuilding their lives and supporting their family.
Those experiences shaped a promise: if they ever found stable ground again, they would become the place people could turn to when life felt overwhelming.
What began as a simple commitment grew into a vision for a community resource hub where individuals and families could receive support without judgment — a place where dignity is restored and people are treated as neighbors, not numbers.
Today, that promise lives through programs like Evelyn’s Table and the ongoing work of building stronger communities.
Because it takes a Village.
